Welcome to first origami tutorial!!
Lets begin with a simple origami envelope. We will start by using a rectangular paper. Note that you can use any size paper as per requirement as well as any kind of paper you want. Start with white side on top (color side on bottom) in case of single side colored paper.
Here I am using A4 size printer paper.
Step 1: Fold the paper in half horizontally and open it to get a middle crease mark.
Step 2: Fold both the bottom edges diagonally to meet at the crease marked.
Step 3: Fold both right and left sides to meet at middle crease.
Step 4: Fold the bottom point as shown below and open to create a crease.
Step 5: Pry paper open as shown and press the paper flat. Pry open will happen automatically if crease in step 4 is made properly.
Step 6: Fold both top edges inwards diagonally as shown and crease well.
Step 7: Fold both edges inside as shown. This will happen automatically if creased well in step 6.
Step 8: Fold top side down as shown below to complete the envelope.
Envelope can be decorated using beads or various quilling shapes which would be covered in the Quilling Tutorial.
